Located at the mining plant in the Tarapacá Region, at 4,400 meters above sea level and about 240 kilometers southeast of the city of Iquique.
A site was chosen that would allow visualization of the surroundings and the project, creating a special place that would combine the idea of a viewpoint, integration with nature and a commemorative monument.
This was designed in two elements with a prefabrication logic that allowed for efficiency in the execution of the landmark due to the climatic and altitude adversities of the location. The first element is an approach walkway off the ground that goes up with a slight slope that allows understanding the environment and reach the viewpoint, along the way milestones are generated pause with the vision of the company to the second element the viewpoint, respecting the topography of the site.
We use materials and a design that blends in with nature, giving the sensation of non-intervention of the site and that the landmark is part of the landscape and that its expression changes over time.
The landmark becomes a witness to the history of QB, a place of reflection and contemplation that transcends its architectural function as an expression of the relationship between human beings and their environment.
